Adam Nathaniel ‘MCA’ Yauch was an American rapper, musician, film director and human-rights activist.

Yauch was most well known as being one third of the influential rap/rock band the Beastie Boys.

Born in Brooklyn - New York, Yauch, along with bandmates Michael ‘Mike D’ Diamond and Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz, earned worldwide acclaim with the Beastie Boys, being only the third rap group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Yauch is survived by his wife Dechen and his daughter Tenzin.
